It's the most wonderful time of the year.
This is exactly how I feel! I absolutely love Christmas season and everything about it; the music, the snow, the gifts, the lights, the fellowship. Stores have crazy sales and everyone goes to buy them. Santa Claus leaves the North Pole for awhile so that children may have to joy of sitting in his lap at our malls. Jackets, gloves, scarfs, hats, boots. And all the Christmas spirit! Though I hate being cold I can tolerate it because with it I know that Christmas is approaching!
Last year I even went Christmas Caroling with some people from church. Yes, it was freezing outside with the wind blowing, snow falling, and the hot chocolate only going so far. But I had so much fun. Hopefully I can do it again this year.
Remember when we were kids and would wake up at 6 am Christmas morning and start opening presents? I remember one such morning where my older brother, Jonathan, received a stuffed brown bear from Santa which now lays on my bed. This is my earliest Christmas memory.
I find more joy in giving gifts rather than receiving them, especially when it comes to my family. More so, my younger brother, Paul. I really have to contain myself from buying everything in sight when I go shopping for him. It really excites me watching him opening his presents with more anticipation in the next unwrapped gift. He gets overly excited with everything, even if it's something as simple as a coloring book. It really brings joy to my heart.
There has only picture perfect Christmas season moment that I can remember. It was when I lived in Wisconsin my sophomore year in high school. My aunt and uncle had everything; there was a beautiful tree shining in the dimly lit living room, the sound of the fire crackling in the fireplace, soft playing Christmas music in the background with the fragrance of a newly cooked pie and snow falling gently to the ground outside. I loved every minute of it.
This will be my first Christmas season away from home but thankfully I get to spend two weeks with my family. I can't wait until then!
I hope you're as excited for Christmas as I am!
Have a holly jolly Christmas!!!
